A perennial favorite with pop fans across the country, Neil Sedaka made his career throughout the 1950's and 1960's with such hits as "Stairway to Heaven," "Happy Birthday," "Sweet Sixteen," and "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do." Following his reign as a hit singer/songwriter, Sedaka had most of his success as a songwriter for artists like Connie Francis, Captain and Tennille, and Elton John.
